Our design priority has been put in minimizing the user's cognitive load in creating and modifying parts in a space, and manipulating them in the space.

However, the implications of the workplace studies in construction, focused on the technology- mediated social and psychological phenomena, are profoundly theoretical. The motivation for the work presented in this paper is practical, arising from the impact of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) on communication and co-operation within and between construction teams.
Often they do not succeed because distance still matters. Deviations from each of these create strain on the relationships among teammates and require changes in the work or processes of collaboration to succeed. Groups with high common ground and loosely coupled work, with readiness both for collaboration and collaboration technology, have a chance at succeeding with remote work. We focus on the sociotechnical conditions required for effective distance work and bring together the results with four key concepts: common ground, coupling of work, collaboration readiness, and collaboration technology readiness. In particular, we compare collocated work with remote work as it is possible today and comment on the promise of remote work tomorrow. Federal research money encourages global science through the establishment of "collaboratories." We review over 10 years of field and laboratory investigations of collocated and noncollocated synchronous group collaborations. Major corporations launch global teams, expecting that technology will make "virtual collocation" possible. With the invention of groupware, people expect to communicate easily with each other and accomplish difficult work even though they are remotely located or rarely overlap in time. Based on our findings, we present a tentative model of the dyad's collaborative process in its phases, which can help researchers and educators trace and foster the collaborative creative process more effectively.Giant strides in information technology at the turn of the century may have unleashed unreachable goals. We found that the collaborative creative process and its phases had similarities to those previously found for solo creative work, yet the process was more complex and volatile and involved different branches. Using an inductive data analysis method, we then identified the phases of the students' collaborative creative process. For in-depth insight into the dyad's collaborative creative process, we used a novel research design in mathematics education, DUET SRI: both students wore eye-tracking glasses during their collaborative work for dual eye-tracking (DUET) and they each participated in a subsequent stimulated recall interview (SRI) where eye-tracking videos from their joint work served as stimulus. Since little is known about the collaborative creative process, we conducted an explorative case study, where two students jointly worked on a multiple solution task. In the research described in this paper, we investigated students' collaborative creative process in mathematics and explored the collaborative creative process in its phases. Collaboration is also increasingly significant, which makes creative collaboration an important twenty-first-century skill.
